Doubt Freaks Us Out is the fourth release since 2017. My sound has been heavily influenced by the Rock n’ Roll of the 60’s and 70’s, and with this new collection of songs I explore my passion for R&B, electronic and dance music. Over the last two years of virtually no live gigs, I found myself experimenting more; freed from the question “how do we do this live?”

The first three tracks all use drum machines, synthesizers, loops and virtual instruments to create a moody Neo-soul vibe. Lyrically they delve into romantic relationships, physical attraction and that grand question of “what’s the purpose of life”. It’s All The Same is very much a folk song with some extra bells and whistles. I wrote this tune over ten years ago after my grandma passed away and have been dragging it around since, recording it a number of times but never releasing a version until now. Springtime Sunshine is my homage to the 90’s “Baggy” sound that was so popular in the UK.

I multi-tracked these songs myself with help from some excellent collaborators including Tyler Bird (Shaela Miller Band, Queen of the Worms), Paul Holden, Dustin Gergel, Danica Sommer and Don Cassel
