Stand Tall 04:09
It ain't far from home And yet still I'd like to get there The chances are I might have spoke to the folks racking pool before Which ain't a dollar twenty five Sure ain't a buck fifty This loon will fetch a game of pairs, that don't matter me none Mostly good folks over there And I ain't talking sharks Or any of them narqy squealers It's those small town ties where my loyalties lie and I'm not gonna justify that Gonna Stand tall Take back them bourbons it's burdens that trouble us all They trouble us all And it might get a little loud But I'm still eating from this ground And that's cozy somehow in downtown Yeah Stand tall Taking back them bourbons as burdens that trouble us all Yeah they trouble us all And it might get a little loud But I'm still eating from the ground And that's cozy somehow in downtown Yeah that's cozy somehow, downtown

Be Easy 03:52
Nothing's ever lost on that well worn path Some think of death as our reward Shine on you old diamond Close to real matter Rock, air, fire, wood Be easy on yourself Be easy on yourself Some truths are to important to embalm in the facts Sleeping in a meadow of grass I go to bed early Bones are so weary Chaos in my head I try to be easy on myself Be easy on myself You gotta be easy on yourself Be easy on yourself I gotta be easy on myself Be easy on yourself

Memories spread across the years Patterns drawn in time I weigh the recourse it outweighs my encephalon Taking the hard road habitually Exchanging gifts we're not Wanting anymore From all those folks best left On the floor Making love Like we did before Our health is the price The wealth's in the work The wealth's in the work Won't you please dry my tears We all just want to forget Who to blame, could you please explain Sunny days slipping away Exchanging gifts we're not Wanting anymore From all those folks best left On the floor Exchanging gifts we're not Wanting anymore From all those folks best left down On the floor Taking love for granted Like we did before Health is the price The wealth's in the work The wealth's in the work Exchanging gifts we're not Wanting anymore From all those folks best left On the floor Taking love for granted Like we did before Our health is the price The wealth's in the work The wealth's in the work

In the waking hours of some not too distant morning You come walking barefoot to this cowl pulled mind Selling yesterday's dreams wrapped in tomorrow's paper Whistling for a dog named kindness that you'll never find It's a cold, hard world love These are cold hard times These are cold hard times Standing in some narrow space you'll hear your mother crying For the thoughts she had and didn't use and now they're gone And your father is still out back he's selling and he's buying There's nothing he can give you 'cause he's never once been wrong It's a cold, hard world love These are cold hard times These are cold hard times I heard my brother died last week or was it just a rumor From an overdose of hate taken in his veins I heard the preachers said God must have a sense of humor 'Cause when they put him in the grave it didn't even rain It's a cold, hard world love These are cold hard times These are cold hard times These are cold hard times

about

I was very blessed to have a recording space at my disposal during the covid lockdowns. It was my favourite place to be, the only thing that really kept me focused on the future. This collection of songs was distilled from dozens of recordings and represents the different sides of my project. The lead single is an anthem for our local watering hole/music venue which was forced to be mostly closed this year.
